How do I keep the GIF from being huge?
Keep the clip short, lower the frame rate to 12 to 15 fps, and reduce the width. GIF size grows with every frame and every pixel, so a short, narrow, lower-frame-rate GIF stays small.
Why does my GIF look grainy?
GIF supports only 256 colors, so gradients and skin tones can band. DivXpress builds an optimized palette from your specific clip using a two-pass method, which looks far better than a naive export, but some limitation is inherent to the format.
Is the video uploaded to make the GIF?
No. The whole conversion runs in your browser on your device. Your clip is never uploaded.
How long a clip can I convert?
There is no hard limit, but GIFs are best kept to a few seconds. Longer clips produce very large files. Trim to the key moment first for the best result.
